Are you once again in the dark pit of food obsession without a sliver of light?
Did you go to OA but eventually convinced yourself “I can handle this now”?
Did something or someone “rub you the wrong way”?
Did your disease come roaring back, or did it sneak up on you like the proverbial thief in the night?
No matter, there is always a seat for you in Overeaters Anonymous. Away for a month, a year, ten years, however long – we welcome you back.
Many of us have wandered from The Road Of Happy Destiny for various reasons and happenstances but our disease finally brought us to a place of moral and spiritual bankruptcy and we became as willing as a drowning man to reach out once again for the lifeline of OA.
Compulsive eating, in whatever forms it may manifest itself with you, is a cunning and powerful foe. We are not like “normal” people when it comes to food – OA teaches us this – but sometimes we forget. We wander off – or run away.
Here is some literature from the OA World Service Office about relapse and recovery. Read and see if you find yourself in there.
You are always welcome at Overeaters Anonymous.
Hope to see you at a meeting soon.
